I sighed deeply, knowing I was going to be getting into some trouble. All five of them were absolutely adorable.
They walked right up to us, as one of them asked, " So are you two willing to talk to us this time?" He was obviously the unlucky one who had been hit earlier, as he was still clutching his arm. "Anyway, I'm Chris."
"That's nice." I spat out rudely, turning sharply on my heels, heading in the opposite direction.
"Kayleigh, come back!" Allie pleaded.
I bowed my head down, stopping in my tracks. 'God.' I thought ' I might as well give up now and talk to them.'
I moved back towards them, and stopped in front of a tall handsome one. It was then I noticed that the curly haired guy was staring at me strangely. He heaved his shoulders, then spun around and slumped towards a bench.
"What's eating him?" Allie asked, obviously showing enthusiasm now that she had my approval of talking to them.
"I guess he's just not feeling too good...he looks kind of sick." replied one of the taller ones.
"Oh that's too bad. Well who are ya'll then?"
One guy cleared his throat, and introduced himself as JC. I recognized him as the boy who invited us to sit by them. Joey was the taller one, and the quiet blonde spoke up with a slight southern accent, "Hey, I'm Lance."
Meanwhile, I had my eyes on the mass of curls sulking on the bench. I pointed and said," So that must be...is it Justin?"
"Whoa, she speaks!"Chris joked," Yeah, that's him."
"Hmm..." I said to myself, and started slowly towards the bench.
He shifted uneasily as I sat next to him. "Hey Justin, I'm Kayleigh." I stretched my arm out, gesturing for him to shake my hand. He avoided it, and answered, " I know. I heard."
I dropped my arm to my side. I had no idea what to say next. We sat together in silence, he was facing the opposite direction the entire time Ally walked over to us and asked me what was going on. I looked over at Justin who grunted, and shrugged.
"Umm...nothing." I glanced at Justin and added, " At all."
He stood up suddenly and sauntered off in the direction of the others. "Whoa man, he's weird."
I nodded as I got up and stretched. Together Ally and I strode quickly to the guys. As we approach, Joey practically begs,"We are going to the beach, would you wanna come?" At that, Justin groaned out loud and stormed off to an expensive looking car.
"Is there something wrong with him? Seriously? Everytime we're in this little huddle, or talking at all, he seems so mad, like he's upset."
"Duh, like we didn't notice. It's just you he hate--
"Started Chris.
"Hey, go easy on her."JC interrupted, kindly adding, "We don't know why he's acting this way."
"Ok. Well thanks for the offer, but I'm sure Justin doesn't want us to be-"
"What? You've got to be kidding me Kay, You're turning these guys down?! I think not! Hell yeah we're going to the beach with you!" Allie interrupted, much like JC only not as politely.
"Well alright then, we'll split up. Lance, Chris and I will go with Kayleigh. Joey you can go with Justin."JC informed everyone.
"It's off to the beach!"Chris and Lance announced together.
