"So you and Wade have known each other that long huh?" Britney asked. "Here, why don't we go outside, so we can actually hear each other!" Kat laughed and nodded her head.

"Good idea." they walked outside and sat on the back steps, continuing their conversation.

"Yeah, we've known each other since like forever. After he left, we kept in touch and all, but when my parents died, I moved to NY to live with my grandparents. The first year was REALLY hard for me. I mean, not having a mom or dad there for so many things, it was so awful, but Wade was there for me. I think the hardest part though, was my graduation. Nobody was there for me, except for Wade. I'm sorry, I'm talking way to much." She tried not to cry, but it wasn't working quite well. Tears began welling up in her eyes, and Britney could see. She felt so bad. It must be so hard for her, not having a mom to do 'girl things' with or the day when your father would take you out driving, tring to teach you. Hearing that she had nobody there for her at her own graduation, that's what ripped her heart out. She pulled Kat into a hug and rubbed her back soothingly.

"Aww, I'm so sorry. I didn't know. Tell you what, since I just bought a house here, I'll be in LA well, for at least a few more days, until my concert starts up, what do you say me and you go on a shoping spree tomorrow. Hit Rodeo Drive. All that Jazz!?" Britney pulled back and smiled, as Kat wiped her eyes.

"I'd like that. Hey have you ever been surfing before?" Britney shook her head. "Well then, I'll have to teach you! Surfing and music are my passion. I've been surfing since I was like eight. My dad taught me. I doubt LA's waves are as killer as the ones in Australia, but oh well!" she laughed and took a sip of water.

"That sounds awsome! I can tell right now that we are gonna become really good friends." This made Kat happy. Moving to a new city and not making friends was one thing she hated. It happened when she moved to New York but eventually, she got through it.

"Me too Britney. So tell me, how long have you and Justin been together?"

"Well, weve known each other since the Mickey Mouse Club, and after I got my record contract, I went on tour with them. That's when it started. It was like one of those things where if your in the same city you hook up, but we decided to get more serious. We have been dating for like a year now." Kat chuckled.

"That's kinda like the situation Wade and I were in!" she thought to herself out loud.
"You and Wade went out!?" Britney asked shocked.
"Um. . yeah, we kinda had a year long, long distance relationship, but I just couldn't handle the distance. I mean if I'm gonna have a boyfriend, I'd like to see him more than once a year! So I broke it off. We're still as close as before, if not closer than before it. And I mean I was only 15." She sighed.

"Yeah I know how you feel. Its easier now because the guys are in LA, and justin and I have time to see each other, but my tour starts in like a week and a half, theirs starts in 3 weeks. That's when it will get a little tough, but we'll get through it!" it was good that Britney had that perspective on her relationship with Justin. "do you ever wonder what it would have been like if you hadnt broken it off with Wade?"
"Yeah, I still do. I still love him and in all honesty I would love to recindle it. Sometimes I just miss the feeling of his lips on mine, or the feeling I get whenever I see him, but then again sometimes I don't want to. I just want things to stay the way they are now. Where we can do anything around each other and not feel embarrassed about it. And I think that's how I want it to stay now."

They talked for a while longer and went inside when they heard the music stop. Wade and JC were in front of the mirror while the others were sprawled out across the wooden floor. Kat laughed at the site as she stepped over the sweaty bodies and through a door. She was bored so she decided she would explore the studio. It wasn't an extremely large building, most of the rooms were either offices or storage rooms. One room though interested her. In the middle of it sat a piano and there were other instruments scattered about.
She walked in and sat down on the bench. Just by the keys, you could tell it had barely been used. She played with the notes until a steady smooth melody was flowing from the room it had always calmed her, plying the piano and singing. The sounds reached the studio and everyone looked around for the source of it.

"Who is playing that? They got talent man!" JC said as he stopped to listen to the melody.

"She sure does." Wade said. He knew it was Katrina, and he knew just where to find her. He excused himself and walked to the instrument room where she was. Kat was so into what she was playing, she didn't even hear him enter. He just stood there watching kat. The way she nodded her head to the melody, and the way her fingers stroked the strong ivory keys. She was beautiful. She had such a passion in her for music, he didn't understand why she was going to study Pre-Law, ah yes, to uphold the family tradition. The melody was now familiar and was accompanied by a beautiful voice. She sang softly, where it was barely audiable.
After watching for a few more minutes, he headed back to the others, giving her privacy, which was probably why she was in there.

"Wade, were gonna order some pizzas you want some?" Justin asked. He looked at his watch and noticed it was already 9:00.
"Nah. You all go home. Britney I'll see you tomorrow at 10 okay?" She nodded her head and after a few minutes the studio was empty. Wade noticed that the melody had now stopped and Kat was coming through the door. He smiled and stretched. "You know Kitty, you should seriously take up music. Your really really good at it!" she sighed and shrugged her shoulders.
"You know I might be good at it, or whatever, but I want to be a lawyer. I've got to keep that tradition." He grabbed her hand and led her over to the couch.

"You don't have to. If music is what you really want to do, and is your dream, the go for it. Your parents would want you to follow your dreams."

The look in his eyes was so sincere. This would be a struggle. On one hand she had law, it was something she had wanted to do ever since the one day she saw her father in court, arguing his heart out. She was always a good arguer. Then, on the other hand, she had music. It took all her problems away, it seemed as if, with just one stroke of a key, she opened up a door, where crammed behind it were dozens of problems, pent up stress and anger, and music was the key to opening that door and letting them all out. She loved singing and playing the piano.

"Don't worry about it. It was only a suggestion. You want to grab a bite to eat, then we can head home?" he asked. She nodded her head as he stood up.
"Yeah I'd like that. Then maybe you can show me what the night life around here is like!"
"Kat, for kids our age, nothin! All the clubs here are 20 and up!"
"Aww that stinks. So then what do you usually do? She asked her eyes lighting up. He walked around the studio, making sure all the lights were off and everything was locked up, then, they headed out to his car.
"Usually I make up more dances, or remix songs that kind of thing. Its like 24/7 work for me. So what do you think of the guys and Britney?"
"I like them all. Especially Britney. She's a really sweet girl. I guess we're going shopping, then when my surfboard comes, I'm gonna teach her how to surf."
"That's funny, I want to be there when you do!" he said laughing.
"Um. . okay, well anyways, they are all really nice. Quite laid back for being the worlds biggest boy band, I mean vocal group!"
"Yeah. They are cool guys, and Brit's cool too!" Kat said as she got in.
